The engine is carried on a cast steel frame and features a rear-entry cab of riveted sheet steel finished in matte black. A similar finish covers the boiler jacket, saddle tank, smokebox, sand and steam domes, and smokestack, while oak bumpers carrying couplers are in place at front and rear. Designed for a standard 56.5”-guage track, the engine is described in factory order documents as 16’8” in length, 7’6” in width, and 9’ tall.
