Deluxe Marti Report
The American Road slide-in camper was developed by Ford in partnership with Starcraft RV of Topeka, Indiana, and was first offered in 1973 before production ceased in 1974 in the midst of the oil crisis. The camper featured an aerodynamically designed fiberglass shell as well as holding tanks positioned underneath the unit to improve weight distribution. Said to be one of approximately 1,000 units produced, this example wears green accents to match the body of the truck and features a rear-access door, propane tank storage, sliding side windows, and clearance lights. Rust is noted on the roof ladder, deteriorated sealant is visible around the roof vent, and the integrated brake lights are cracked.
