The front bodywork was modified under original ownership with the sheet metal forward of the cowl cut and reattached with dzus fasteners to provide easier access to the engine compartment. The car was repainted in primrose yellow early in its life before being refinished in green in the 1960s, and it was returned to its original shade of red during the 1980s refurbishment. Cracks in the finish are present on the lower corners of the passenger-side door, the leading edge of the driver-side door, and at each sides of the base of the windshield.
