Red 13″ steel wheels wear Amphicar-branded hubcaps and are mounted with 165/80 BFGoodrich Silvertown wide whitewall tires. The front wheels serve as rudders when the car is afloat, and braking while on land is handled by hydraulic drums at each corner. The brake lines were reportedly replaced in 1995, and work performed in 2022 is said to have involved servicing the brakes and replacing the rear axle bearings and seals.
