Steel 15″ wheels were repainted in 2021 and wear chrome VW-branded covers along with replacement BFGoodrich thin-whitewall tires. A full-size spare mounted with a Continental bias-ply tire is retained in the trunk. The braking system was serviced under current ownership with a rebuild of the master cylinder and front calipers as well as replacement of the soft lines, front rotors and pads, rear shoes, wheel cylinders, and wheel bearings.
