The body was stripped to bare metal and finished in 1996 with PPG etching primer, high-build primer, Fjord Blau (037), and three coats of clearcoat. The sunroof drains were modified and fitted with copper lines designed to bypass the sills, and a headlamp wiper system was added. Additional custom details include BMW Motorsport roundels, 3.8 trunk and grille badges, relocated rear bumperettes, European-style lighting, and black kidney grille and fender vent grilles. Alpina 16” alloy wheels measure 7” wide up front and 8” wide at the rear, with their increased width accommodated by rolled and trimmed fender lips respectively. Staggered-size Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires show 2013 and 2015 date codes.
