This re-creation’s aluminum bodywork was fabricated by Stefano Allegretti, the son of Carrozzeria Allegreti founder Mario Allegretti, to replicate that of one of the approximately 55 original SWB California Spyders built. According to a 2022 letter from Allegretti shown in the photo gallery below, the project was based on the rolling chassis of a 250 GTE, with the donor car’s frame was shortened to accommodate the abbreviated wheelbase. Finished in dark blue, the car features faired-in headlights with bright bezels, grille-mounted driving lights, quad exhaust outlets, and a dark blue convertible top.
