In the early 1960s, soon after their three consecutive Le Mans wins, Jaguar set out to build a road going production variant of the famed D Type race car. In March of 1961, the E Type was released in two styles, the Fixed Head Coup and the Open Two Seater . Upon it s unveiling, Enzo Ferrari called it the most beautiful car ever made .
