This 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 Convertible is a real-deal Super Sport with its numbers-matching big block still under the hood. The package is nicely coordinated with the red paint and white SS stripe that go nicely with the white convertible top. The special trim package makes the blacked-out Super Sport grille look like it flows right down to the black rockers that run the full length of the car. The white interior coordinates nicely with the overall theme seen on the exterior. So that makes for a well-done package inside and out. Two wide rows of bench seating give you plenty of space. AM/FM/CD stereo with USB input and Bluetooth, and there's upgraded R134a air conditioning. The SS396 was its own model designation in '68, and so it's great to have the numbers-matching 396 cubic-inch big block still under the hood. But you can also see they invested in this V8 for extra power. It has upgrades like an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and long tube headers that feed the X-pipe dual exhaust. Plus, this has the right quality supporting components, like an upgraded ignition, billet pulleys, and an Optima red top battery. It makes for a good driver's machine, especially with the stout TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and sway bars front & rear.
