The Pontiac GTO is considered by many the first true muscle car with the introduction of the GTO package on their LeMans and Tempest models in 1964. When other manufacturers were concentrating on their full size lines Pontiac saw the potential for dropping a big block engine into an intermediate frame and marketing it at a budget price. The 1967 model boasted eight taillights, GTO emblems on the rocker panels and the grill was changed as well. This particular example was optioned nicely with a Turbo Hydromatic transmission, a push button radio, deluxe wheel discs, a center console, Wonder Touch power steering, a Soft Ray tinted windshield and air conditioning. It has been upgraded with an electronic ignition and an Edelbrock carb to feed her more efficiently and it sounds great ripping through its original exhaust manifolds and chambered exhaust. The interior is mostly original except for the fact that the front seats have been recovered, the carpet has been replaced and the aftermarket water, oil and volt gauges were added above the center console.
