The 1956 Bel Air was restyled with a face lift with a full width grill and a lot more chrome. Gm called it the HOT ROD in their advertising due to more horsepower. This 1956 Bel Air convertible certainly fits that statement. It is powered by what appears to be a period correct 265 small block V 8 with 2 four barrel carburetors a Bat Wing air cleaner. and a 3 speed column shift manual transmission. It is equipped with power steering power brakes power top and an after market AM FM radio with cassette. This is a very solid Tri Five convertible. 1956 was also the first year for the hidden gas cap behind the left tail light assembly.
