The continued evolution of the iconic Jaguar E Type from the Series 1 meant that the Series 2 introduced in 1968 had a more comfortable and reliable ride, coupled with superior performance, handling and appearance. The distinctive glass headlight covers were replaced with open lights, and other lighting was relocated and enlarged. Other design changes included a wraparound rear bumper and re positioned, bigger front indicators with the tail lights below the bumper.
